Just a little reminder of what will be going on at AboutBeverages.com for the week of January 30th - February 5th 2012.  Two more podcasts and two more beers is what we have on tap this week starting Tuesday with a "Give It A Shot" featuring Samuel Adams Alpine Spring.  This seasonal unfiltered lager is available through March and was created in an attempt to bridge the gap between heavier winter brews and the lighter brews of summer.  Wait, brews of summer?  Isn't that a Don Henley song?  Oh no that's Boys of Summer.  Anyway, on Thursday we will have another "Give It A Shot" featuring the Rogue Dead Guy Ale.  This is definitely the beer I think of as their flagship and for some reason we have never had it.  Make sure you're following us on twitter for all of our other beverage tastings and info.  Click the link here to get to our twitter page.  Also don't forget to check out our channel on youtube.

On the horizon...week of January 16th - January 22nd 2012

Just a little reminder of what will be going on at AboutBeverages.com for the week of January 16th - January 22nd 2012.  Our last week was pretty awesome here at the site as we made available the very  first AboutBeverages.com App for use on all smartphones and tablets.  Click the link here from either of those devices if you haven't downloaded it yet.  That will be a difficult one to top, but we will sure try starting Tuesday with a "Give It A Shot" featuring the Paddleford Creek bourbon.  It's not very expensive, only about $20, so we will see hot it directly compares to one of our favorites, the Bulleit.  If you missed that podcast where we tried it and several others, you can find that here.  Then on Thursday we will have our first VIDEO "Give It A Shot" featuring Rogue Brewing's Voodoo Doughnut.  This is another big first for us so we are quite excited about this as well.  The video will be available through our youtube channel and directly on our site.  We will still be providing an audio version of the podcast for those of you on the go or who have bandwidth issues, but if you want to see us and what we're drinking check out the video.  Make sure you're following us on twitter for all of our other beverage tastings and info.  Click the link here to get to our twitter page.  Also don't forget to check out our channel on youtube.

AboutBeverages.com Official Mobile App

I know we said it would be a few weeks in the last "On the horizon..." post, but we can't wait any longer.  So without further adieu, we give you the AboutBeverages.com Mobile App!  If you are viewing this on your phone than you may have already downloaded it when you were prompted to upon arriving at our site.  Let us just say thank you for that.  You will be rewarded with all the information and podcasts you've come to enjoy in a now easy to use mobile format.  If you are reading this post on your computer, then you have something to look forward to the next time you turn on your iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, iPad etc.  We are still in the process of making some tweaks here and there, but overall we are quite happy with what we have created and are excited about what will be happening in the near future.  I have included a link at the bottom of this post (just click our logo) in case you skipped the initial option to download the app and still want to try it out.  

As always, don't hesitate to let us know what you think, good or bad.  We are always looking to improve and your input will only help make things better, faster, stronger!

 

On the horizon...week of January 9th - January 15th 2012

Just a little reminder of what will be going on at AboutBeverages.com for the week of January 9th - January 15th 2012.  We've got two podcasts this week for your listening pleasure along with an announcement.  On Tuesday we will have the first "Give It A Shot" recorded this year featuring a continuation of one of our long standing journeys, a great beer in a can.  The path now leads us to San Tan Brewing in Chandler Arizona for their Devil's Ale.  Then on Thursday we will have another "Give It A Shot" featuring a collaboration beer from Stone Brewing, The Bruery, and Elysian.  Now for the announcement.  In the next week or two you will be able to download the official AboutBeverages.com App!  We will make it first available through a link directly on the website that you can access using your iPhone, Android, or Windows phone.  The app will contain no ads and will simply be a more intuitive way for you to stay in touch with AboutBeverages while on the go.  We are very excited about this new development for our site and can't wait to get some feedback as to what our listeners think about it.  Make sure you're following us on twitter for all of our other beverage tastings and info.  Click the link here to get to our twitter page.  Also don't forget to check out our channel on youtube.

On the horizon...week of December 26th - January 1st 2012

Just a little reminder of what will be going on at AboutBeverages.com for the week of December 26th - January 1st 2012.  The new year has almost arrived and why not lead up to it with a pair of "Give It A Shot" podcasts.  On Tuesday we will be wrapping up and putting a little bow on our Collaboration Beer Podcast that we started several months back with the help of Eric Greene, Brewmaster at Dragoon Brewing.  We will finally be tasting the fruits of our labor in the form of the Coffee Black IPA home brew.  Then on Thursday we bring Port Brewing back into the tasting room with their High Tide Fresh Hop IPA.  Brewed only once a year to coincide with the hop harvest in Yakima Washington, this beer has 180 pounds of fresh hops per batch.  That's a lot of hops!  Make sure you're following us on twitter for all of our other beverage tastings and info.  Click the link here to get to our twitter page.  Also don't forget to check out our channel on youtube.
