    A Little Wine May Boost Heart-Healthy Omega-3

A European study of adults has found that moderate wine drinkers have higher blood levels of omega-3.  My first question was what do they mean by moderate.  Thankfully the article answered that question.  One drink a day for women and two for men.  The researchers believe that once again it comes down to the polyphenols in wine.  Oh yeah, I know what you're thinking.  All these articles about the benefits of wine and yet it still is not part of the food pyramid.

Tour with the Head Brewmaster of Guinness

If your a fan of what I consider the "nectar of the Gods" then this story should be of interest.  It's a behind the scenes look at what makes Guinness Draught so unique from Fergal Murray the head brewmaster.  It goes into detail about the types of hops they use and why they use nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide.  The best fact of all buried toward the bottom of the article...one pint of Guinness only gives you 198 calories, that’s less than a pint of orange juice or premium light beer.  Delicious!

Houston Students Developing Beer With Ingredients That Fight Cancer, Heart Disease

Discovered this short yet interesting article about some students at Rice University trying to improve the health benefits of beer.  So many humorous tag lines could be written after such a statement but we'll just stick with the obvious.  "I'll drink to that!"
